1 SR digital home theater speaker system
How is the CineMate
®
1 SR digital
home theater speaker system
different from conventional one-
speaker – or sound bar – systems?
A one-speaker home theater system based on conventional technology is often
bulky, and can appear even more so when used with a thin television. The
CineMate
®
1 SR speaker array uses Bose
®
proprietary PhaseGuide
sound radiators
and TrueSpace
®
signal processing to deliver wide, spacious sound from a speaker
only 2.4 inches (6cm) in height – making it an elegant visual complement to today’s
thin televisions.
How is the CineMate
®
1 SR digital
home theater speaker system
different from the Bose Lifestyle
®
135 home entertainment system?
The CineMate
®
1 SR digital home theater speaker system and the Lifestyle
®
135
home entertainment system have the same speaker package and sound quality
capability. The Lifestyle
®
135 system has a media console that provides many
additional benefits that include: easy, seamless control over the television and other
devices, a built-in AM/FM tuner, a dock for iPod/iPhone, and the ability to add
sound throughout a home with Bose
®
link technology.
How is the CineMate
®
1 SR digital
home theater speaker system
different from the CineMate GS
series II digital home theater
speaker system?
While both systems share many features and benefits, such as a home theater
experience from speakers placed only in the front of the room and a hideaway
Acoustimass
®
module, the CineMate
®
1 SR system was designed specifically for the
customer who wants to minimize the visual presence of a home theater system. The
single slender speaker array is a visual complement to a thin television, whether
mounted on a wall or placed on a table. And the wireless link to the Acoustimass
module assures a clean, clutter-free appearance in nearly any room.
How does the CineMate
®
1 SR
digital home theater speaker
system connect to a TV and other
devices?
All audio connections are made at the speaker array. Analog, optical digital and
coaxial digital audio inputs are provided to connect a TV. The speaker array also has
two auxiliary inputs: one optical and one coaxial digital. A wireless audio signal
connects the Acoustimass
®
module, which can be hidden nearly anywhere in the
room.
What are the two auxiliary inputs
for, and how do I select them?
While the CineMate
®
1 SR system can be connected using either analog or digital
audio inputs from the television, we have found that the digital audio output of
many televisions does not preserve the highest audio quality from a connected
source, such as a Blu-ray Disc
player, even when the device is connected to the
television via HDMI. The auxiliary inputs provide a means for connecting high-quality
digital audio from a source and ensuring the highest possible sound quality. There is
no need to select an auxiliary input. The proprietary Bose
®
SmartSource
input
selection system automatically selects the highest-quality audio signal available.
What if I have more than two
source devices?
The CineMate
®
1 SR system provides high-quality sound from all devices connected
to your TV. The system lets you connect up to two of these devices via auxiliary
inputs and be assured of the highest possible sound quality from those devices. If
connectivity to, and control over, multiple devices is important to you, you may
want to consider the Lifestyle
®
135 home entertainment system.
