Using the System
Battery protection mode
When the SoundTouch
Portable system is unplugged and unused for several days
or one day with a remaining charge of less than 10 percent, it enters battery
protection mode to preserve battery power. To reactivate the system, connect it to
AC (mains) power.
Note: Do not store your system for extended periods when the battery status icon
on the display indicates less than 20 percent capacity
.
When not in use, store the system in a cool place. Do not store the system
fully charged for long periods of time.
Replacing the battery
Rechargeable batteries periodically need replacement. The lifetime of a battery
depends on usage and volume settings.
You may need to replace the battery if you must recharge the battery more often.
For replacement batteries, contact the Bose
®
organization in your country or re-
gion. Visit global.Bose.com for Bose contact information.
CAUTION: Only use replacement batteries purchased through Bose Coporation
or authorized dealers. Using unauthorized batteries may compromise
safety and regulatory requirements and could lead to fire hazards.
To replace the battery:
1. Power off and uplug the system from AC (mains) power.
2. Place the system on a soft blanket.
3. Use the 2.5 mm supplied hex wrench to remove the screws on the bottom of
the system.
4. Place the system, display-side down, with button pad facing you.
5. Press both thumbs on the top edge of the rear cover.
6. Push the cover off the system.
